Timothy Welty, a flame greater than that of two jet planes was extinguished on September 11th, 2001 at the World Trade Center Disaster. Firefighter Timothy Welty, of FDNY Squad 288, was killed in the line of duty along with hundreds of his brothers. Few people were more alive than Timothy, making the reality of his death all the more difficult to accept. Tim began his career as a firefighter in 1993 at Engine 233 in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
He is survived by a loving family who cherish his memory and miss him very much, including wife of seven years, Delia Mastromauro-Welty; his son, Jake; daughter, Julia; mother, Adele Welty; father, William Welty; brothers, Chris and Darren Welty; sister, Melinda Nugent; nieces and nephews; a family-in-law; friends and comrades.
Tim made a deep and lasting impression upon each of us, and we will celebrate his life at a memorial service to be held on November 11, 2001 at Astoria World Manor, 25-22 Astoria Boulevard, Astoria, New York, 718-278-7766, between 1:00 and 3:00 P.M.
