Living Tribute to David P. DeRubbio
Died: September 11, 2001
David P. DeRubbio, FDNY, age 38 of Brooklyn, New York, died heroically in the line of duty on September 11, 2001 trying to rescue others at the WTC.

Beloved father of Jessica. Loving husband to Lorraine. Cherished son of Albert (Ret. USAF) and Marion DeRubbio (nee Sneddon). Davis is survived by a large and loving family of brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews, Marylee, Steve and Steve Ianno, Dominick, Cathy, Dom and James DeRubbio, Anthony DeRubbio, Albert Jr. (Ret. USAF), Terri, Anthony and Joseph DeRubbio, Robert DeRubbio, Mario, Angela and Danielle Tiberi and Leah Magnuson.

David was a graduate of St. Agatha's grammar school and Aviation High School. Following in his three brothers footsteps, Dominick (Battalion Chief, 22nd Battalion, West Brighton), Anthony (Engine 235, Bed Stuy) and Robert (Engine 248, Bed Stuy), David successfully completed training at the New York City Fire Academy on August 12, 1998 and was assigned to Engine Company 226 in Brooklyn. As part of a rotational training program, Dave spent a year and a half at Ladder 20 in Manhattan and Engine 290 in Brooklyn. In the summer of 2000, he was re-united with his fellow firefighter brothers at Engine Company 226 and could not be happier.

A memorial mass celebrating David's wonderful life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2001, 10 A.M, at St. Agatha's RC Church, 49th Street and 7th Ave-nue., Brooklyn, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the New York Firefighters Burn Center, c/o Engine 226, 409 State Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
