Lawrence Boisseau, age 36 of Freehold, NJ, died tragically on September 11, 2001. He worked as a Fire Safety Director for the Port Authority and was on duty on the 91st floor in tower one of the World Trade Center.
A loving, easy-going man, Larry didn't hesitate to give his life to save others. Along with his fellow safety officers, he put duty above personal safety, leading trapped employees out of harms way and pointing the way for arriving emergency crews to do the same. He helped save dozens of trapped children in a daycare facility, by breaking through windows and carrying them through shattered glass to safety. After he saved the children, he went back to help evacuate the building, allowing thousands of people out of the tower before the World Trade Center collapsed.
Larry is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa; his mother, Rose; his sisters, Donna & Patti; brother, Bob.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 12:00 noon at St. Rose of Lima New Chapel at Main St. on Lincoln Place, Freehold, NJ 732-462-0859.
