Michael Boyle, age 37, of Engine Company 33, lost his life on September 11, 2001 while heroically saving others in the World Trade Center. Michael was born on August 8, 1964 to James and Barbara Boyle in Queens, NY. Michael graduated from Westbury High School and Cortland State University.

Michael was the owner of Westbury Beverage and worked for the Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94. In 1996, Michael was appointed to the FDNY, his lifetime dream, and was assigned to Engine 33 on Great Jones Street, Manhattan. He also served in Ladder 35 at Lincoln Center and Engine 226 in downtown Brooklyn. Michael was a champion Marathon Runner and was in training for N.Y.C. Marathon to break 3 hours.
Michael is survived by his parents, James (retired President of the Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94 and Engine 217) and Barbara; two brothers, James (Sgt. NYPD) and Peter (Owner of All Island Beverage); two sisters, Mary Lynch and husband Brendan and Jeanne Boyle, ESQ; two nieces, Amanda and Diana; his special love, Rosemary Kenny; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Michael was a loving son, a wonderful brother, a special uncle, devoted to Rosemary. He had a unique way of touching the lives of everyone. A future labor leader. He was a true friend, will be deeply missed, but forever remembered. GOD BLESS YOU Michael.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Donohue Cecere Funeral Home, 290 Post Avenue, Westbury, LI on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Memorial Mass Monday, November 5, 2001 9:30 A.M., St. Patrick's Cathedral, NY, NY.
