My Mother was born on 12/08/1952 in Amesbury, MA. She lived there until 1970 at the age of 18 when she moved to New York, then met my father Gilberto Neira. In 1975, they, along with me moved to Los Angeles, CA to start a new life.
For many years, our family made the usual 5 hour flight to Boston to visit my Motherís family. I went with her on what would be her last trip to see her family. This time, we took separate flights and met in Boston, just her and I. We had the best time together.
Then, on 09/11/01 we went to the airport together. The car rental shuttle dropped off at her terminal first, she going on American and me going on Delta. My last words to her were, see you back home. She was taken from this earth less then 2 hours later. I didnít find out about the terrorist attack until my plane had to make an emergency landing in Ohio, where I remained for 3 days (all flights were grounded) alone to deal with my grief.
Laurie Neira was the glue that held our family together. She was the most loving and caring person I have ever known. She was a loving and devoted Wife and Mother to me and my brother Christopher. She was also a doting Grandmother to my daughter Amanda-she couldnít wait to be a Grandma! She was taken from our family too soon and left a void that will never be filled again.
Daughter, Francisca (Niera) Webster
