Freeman Roland Ratliff was born July 25, 1921 in Lawrence County, Arkansas to C. W. Ratliff and Myrtle Freeman Ratliff. He was a Baptist Minister and Pastor for about fifty years pastoring churches in Arkansas, Texas and Missouri and at the time of his death was pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church in Mayflower, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by Virginia Baker Ratliff, his wife of fifty-five years. He is survived by his wife, Athaleen Ratliff; daughter, Kay Irvin; son, Thomas Ratliff, all of Conway. Other survivors include two brothers, John of Conway and Wes of Abilene, Texas; three sisters, Jean McGinness and Freedia Coke, both of Greenville, Texas and Ruth Lee of Terrell, Texas; four grandchildren, Brian and Brad Ratliff and Mark Davis; six great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Naomi Wilson of Springdale, AR, Kathy Fickeisen of Orlando, FL and Lori Thompson of Conway; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2001 at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway with Bro. John Burleson, Bro Henry Horton and Bro. Terry Kimbro officiating. Pallbearers are Tommy Hoggard, Bill Hoggard, Darrell Farley, Norman Crass, Gerald Walters and Gene Manning. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Lakeview Baptist Church and his grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist College, F.R. Ratliff Scholarship Fund.
