Calvin C. Shock, age 77 of Conway, died Monday, February 25, 2002 at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1924 in Enola, AR., a son of B.S. Shock and Ollie Belle Bailey Shock. He was an agent for New York Life Insurance Company for 52 years and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Methodist Men Organization, and was a youth counselor for Methodist Youth Fellowship, and various other church boards. Other memberships include the Lionís Club, Chamber of Commerce, Faulkner County Historical Society, YBMA, and Conway Country Club Menís Golf Association, and the Big Table at Bobís Grill.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Velma Burton, Mildred Cook, Carrie Mitchell, Margree Beckwith, and brothers, Herbert Shock and Dawson Shock. He is survived by his wife, Byrd Evelyn Rhode Shock of Conway; three sons, Michael C. Shock and wife Melissa of Conway; Shannon L. Shock of Conway; Randy Shock and wife Karen of Ft. Smith; two daughters, Adair Howell and husband Ritchie of Conway; Laurel Moore and husband Scott of Quitman; and a sister, Maurine Norton of Carson City, Nevada. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Matthew Shock, Marcus Shock, Heath Howell, Noah Shock, and Dylan Moore, two step-grandchildren, Ty Floyd and Raina Floyd, and two step great-grandchildren, Summer Floyd and Autumn Floyd.
Services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, 327-7727. Family members serving as pallbearers are Matthew Shock, Marcus Shock, Heath Howell, Ty Floyd, Ritchie Howell, and Scott Moore.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and the Faulkner County Historical Society.
