Joseph John Coppo, age 47 of New Canaan, CT, died tragically on September 11, 2001 during the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. He was vice-president of municipal bonds at Cantor Fitzgerald.
He was born in New York and grew up in Baldwin Cove on Long Island. He graduated from Maria Regina High School and Manhattan College, where he was captain of the baseball team. He was involved in organizing and coaching youth sports and he was the president of the New Canaan Baseball Association.
He leaves his wife, Patricia; daughter, Kathleen; and sons, Joseph III, Matthew, and John. "He was everybody's best friend. I know he was mine," his daughter said.
