Michael F. Lynch, age 30, a NYC firefighter, with great courage, heroically responded to the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and sacrificed his life while saving others.
Michael was born to Kathleen and Jack Lynch on December 12, 1970. He was a life-long resident of Throggsmeck. Michael was a graduate of St. Frances de Chantal School, Cardinal Spellman High School and Iona College. Michael joined the FDNY in 1999. He was assigned to Ladder 32/Engine 62. On September 11, 2001, Michael was on rotation to Engine 40 in Manahattan.
Michael will be greatly missed by his family and his loving fiancee, Stephanie Luccioni. Michael is remembered as a loving son, fiancee, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Loving son of Kathleen and Jack; cherished brother of John, Kathleen, Maureen, Fred, Patrick, Kevin, Thomas, Colleen and Paul; dear brother-in-law of LouAnn, Mark, Tom, Ruth, Deborah, Tracy and Jason; devoted uncle of Timmy, Tara, Mary, Caroline, Christopher, Ryan, Mariah, Andrew, Conor, Siobhan, Courtney, Samantha, Kevin, Justin, Caitlin, and Liam, with who he had a special bond, as well as his loving extended family and many wonderful friends.
Michael's infectious humor and love of life was evident to all who knew him personally and through his contributions to the community of Throgsmeck, including activities such as coaching children's soccer and DJ'ing local events and charitable functions.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2001 from 1-5 and 7-9:30 P.M. at Schuyler Hill Funeral Home, 3535 E. Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on December 7, 2001, 11:00 A.M. at St. Frances de Chantal Church, Hollywood Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465.
