George David (Dewey) Ellenburger, 88, formerly of Stuttgart, passed
away at his daughter's home in Mayflower Thursday, March 15, 2007.
He was born March 4, 1919 in Almyra, AR and later moved to Stuttgart.
He was a decorated WW II Veteran, serving four years in the Army in the
Pacific. By trade he was a machinist, having worked in Stuttgart and
Lonoke. He retired from the Army Corp of Engineers, working on the
Kerr-McClellan navigation system. He was an active man, a hard worker who
enjoyed helping others.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; his daughter, Carol Palasack and her
husband Wayne.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Turpin Funeral Home in
Stuttgart with Brother Ken Reece officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree
Cemetery by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, (501) 327-7727.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday prior to the funeral service
at Turpin Funeral Home.
