Lester Fabern King of Conway died Tuesday, November 1st, 2005 in his home at the
age of 81. He was born September 25th, 1924 in Holland, Arkansas to the late Henry
and Viola Goode King. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Eldon, Leondus Earl
(Bud) and Roy Verdean “Dink” King.
He was an Army WWII veteran (having served in the South Pacific and the Philippines),
was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church of Holland and was retired from
the Arkansas State Hospital after 30 years of employment as a LPTN.
He is survived by his wife 36 of years: Arlene Darnell Atterberrry King, by his daughter:
Sherry Alsobrook of Camden, his four granddaughters: Shelia Riley, Tammy George,
Michelle Stinnett and Tiffany Alsobrook all of Camden; by six great-grandchildren; two
brothers: Jimmy H. King and wife Marilyn of Conway and Ronnie L. King of Plumerville;
his sister: Leeotta King Ingram and husband Weldon of Enola; by brothers-in-laws: Rodney
and C.K. Atterberry and mother-in-law: Mattie M. Atterberry.
Funeral services are Friday, 11:00 a.m. November 4th, at the Oakland United Methodist
Church of Holland officiated by Rev. Bert Powell, burial in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation is
from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Roller-McNutt of Conway (501.327.7727).
