Hillard D. Ealy, 79, of Twin Groves, died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at his home. He
was born July 18, 1925 in Damascus to the late Silas Owens, Sr. and Betty Ealy Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters, Freeda N. Johnson, Barbara L.
Ealy, Janice M. Henderson, step-father, Martin Walker, step-mother, Georgia Owens Jones,
three brothers, Mason Owens, Dawson Owens, and Silas Owens, Jr.
Mr. Ealy was a retired brick mason instructor at Petit Jean Vo Tech and a WWII Army veteran.
He was member and deacon of Solomon Grove Baptist Church in Twin Groves for over 40 years,
as well as chairman of the Deacon Board. He was on the Twin Groves City Council, a former
board member of Faulkner County CAPCA, former school board member of Guy Perkins School
District, and secretary of the Cypress Creek District Church Union for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joy Ray Morris Ealy; four sons, Harmon G. Ealy and
Wilbur L. Ealy, both of Twin Groves, Dwight D. Ealy of Springfield, AR, Dwan L. Henderson of Springdale, AR; one daughter, Donna S. James of Ft. Worth, TX; one brother, Bobby J. Owens
of Maumelle, AR; three sisters, Pauline Morris of Twin Groves, Lilla Swafford of Sacramento, CA,
Farris Thompson Mateen of Flint, MI; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church
with Pastor Willie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Solomon Grove Cemetery. Family visitation is Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, AR.
Pallbearers will be Eric Johnson, Dwan Henderson, DeShay Ealy, Shaun Wright, Herman Ealy, Jr., Shane Foster, Garland Davis, Chris Griffin, and Carlos Henderson.
